JNTO Singapore Office's Activities

November 2006

In order to let the public gain a better understanding of Japan, JNTO organized “Fascinating Japan” which had presentations done by different Japanese prefectures.

at NATAS Fair

We participated in the NATAS Holidays Travel Fair and provided invaluable information to the people who visited our booth during the 3-day fair!

One of the seminars JNTO helped to organize was "The 12th Ryokan & Hotel International Cultural Exchange Program: Okami in Singapore". "Okami" are lady owners of the traditional Ryokan (inns).

"Photo Contest" winners

A photo contest was held by Visit Japan Campaign Headquarters for travelers to submit their beautiful photos taken during their Japan trip and many photos were submitted.

May 2006

JNTO Singapore Office opens in Singapore to the public on May 5th to much excitement! We had our opening ceremony during the day at Plaza Singapura and a reception in the evening.

"Yokoso! Japan Street Fiesta" was held outside Plaza Singapura to coincide with our opening and as part of the events for Japan-Singapore Tourism Year 2006.
